PERSONAL - Odi Yusoff: A promise is not meant to be broken
A couple of years ago, i was told that promises were meant to be broken. This was from the mouth of a so-called intellectual. But when one is dealing with a child, a promise is a promise, and you'd better make sure that it is fulfilled....Or you will not have a quiet, restful life during the weekend...
"Along Odi, bila Along Odi nak yang rahsia tu?"
"Apa dia Emi?"
"Bila Along Odi nak (whispering to my ear) nak tangkap gambar Emi? Along Odi kata nak tangkap gambar Emi."
"Oh! Ok.. Along Odi lupe lak. Jom.. Along Odi cari kamera jap ye.."
I went to get my camera from my bag and made sure the camera and setting were fine.
"Along Odi, Emi duduk sini ye. Nanti Along Odi tangkap Emi macam ni ye. Masuk Facebook."
"Emi posing le betol-betol."
"Betol le ni."
"Okay dah siap."
"Emi nak tengok."
"Atok Noli, Emi cantik tak?"
"Ok.. Emi tunggu Along Odi masukkan dalam Facebook ye."
"Bile?"
"Nantila, Along Odi masukkan."
So, I had to snap Emi's photos and... upload them to my Facebook as promised.
If Korea had the slogan - Korean Sparkling-, I had - Helmi Sparkling.
With kidz, never, never ever promise anything or they will haunt you non-stop until you ... Thank God, I only said "tangkap gambar"... the facebook uploading part was his, not mine... dapat kaki, nak peha la pulak...
