PERSONAL : Choices

In life you have to make lots of choices, but sometimes the choices are handed to you by HIM.

First example, I did not know what to do with the land situation back in Muar. Anger, frustrastion, sadness etc came one after another. And my head can’t think straight. So I went to seek for legal advices. Abah suggested I went to the lawyer he knew since his police days. I did not meet the lawyer he suggested, but I met Shah instead.

In the beginning of the lawyer-client relationship, he was kind of formal. I addressed him as En. Shah. And when we discussed he was really projecting this lawyer image, professional. But as the years passed, I realized that I no longer called him En Shah; it’s now Shah.. . And me Kak Radiah or Akak…and even the topic of conversation can be way off-based… but usually it was due to my fault la…

And with FB as one of the mediums of communication for us, the ‘conversation’ can be really, truly way, way, way off-based…kih3x

And since the first meeting, he had helped me so much in terms of giving advice not just on the land matters, but also on other legal mattes, including syariah … I do hope Shah would get this syariah licence too so that I don’t have to go to other lawyers whom I would, quote Shakespeare - "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers" (Henry VI, Part 2, Act IV, Scene II).

Second example, I was at wit’s end at finding a doctor who can replace the regular doctor my family had been going to since the late 70s – Dr Loh. So I took mak to the doctor my brother and his family always frequented. Mak has been getting regular treatment for her blood pressure. And after meeting this doctor, I had to go find another one. Picture this:

“Makcik dulu makan ubat apa untuk darah tinggi?”
“Makcik makan ubat ni”
“Kita teruskan dengan ubat ni, tapi Makcik… ubat ni tak ada di klinik saya. Saya akan minta suami saya cari di farmasi Taiping ubat yang sama. “
And I was going why did she had to continue with the same medication; can’t she get another one with the same effect as Dr Loh’s prescription. And she

“Ok, Mak… Nanti Odi bawak Mak Dr lain”. And so when her medication was about to finish I took her to Dr Ng. My sister and a number of my friends told me he was expensive. Yup, can’t deny that. It ran into a couple of hundreds every time I took Mak to see him. But I still continue to take Mak there. Why? Because he takes time to listen to his patient, and to his/her family, especially me^^

And like with Shah, Dr Ng and I would always talk stuff which kind of off-based too…and again it was due to my fault…kih3x and lucky for Dr Ng, he is not an internet addict, or he would also get them from me via FB^__^

The point I am trying to make here is that choices like these were not selected by me, but were handed to me by HIM.. And I would highly recommend Shah and Dr Ng to anyone . I have other individuals in my list, but I will write about them in my other notes later.
